The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness is gearing up to host our annual Black Women’s Wellness Day (BWWDAY) event. Over the 13 years the event occurred, we have impacted the lives of thousands of women across the country.


The Well Black Woman acknowledges her own value and consciously creates the space and time in her daily life to put her own health and well-being first. She does this despite the many demands on her time and energy, and she refuses to simply focus on surviving day to day, or to allow a cycle of self-neglect to take hold of her life.

May is National Women’s Health Month. Making the commitment to live as WELL BLACK WOMEN has never been more important. As we continue to navigate and recover from the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know that Black women have been hard hit. It’s time to emerge stronger than ever as WELL BLACK WOMEN!

Black Maternal and Child Health in the United States is in a State of Emergency. April is Minority Health Month and home to national Black Maternal and Child Health Week which is observed each year from April 11-17th. This is a critical time to talk about a pressing issue that deserves our immediate attention – the health of Black mothers and babies.


March is Women’s History Month and a time to celebrate the many contributions women have made to building our world and improving the human condition. This starts with the powerful women in our families and extended community who persisted against incredible odds and obstacles to move our families forward from one generation to the next! We ARE because of them!
