Ashro Woman: Victoria W.

Meet Ashro Woman of the Week, Victoria W. from Gardena, CA

Wife and mother, inspirational author and podcaster, Victoria is a woman with purpose and passion. While she is recently retired, she continues to lean into life. She is a board member for Project PeaceMakers, Inc.—an advocacy agency for those suffering from domestic violence and intimate partner violence.

She is also an advocate for lung cancer awareness, an undertaking that came out of her greatest struggle: the death of her mother from lung cancer. “I can’t imagine ever getting through life without GOD. I never would have made it this far without Him and my FAITH!”

Victoria loves her Baptist church. “Both my young adult sons were raised in the church. Both are in the choir, serve on the usher board and my oldest is a junior deacon.” Being a mother has truly been a blessing to Victoria. One of her favorite ways to spend her time is to take walks with her youngest son and to make her homemade mac and cheese for holidays.

“I have enjoyed every aspect of motherhood. The lessons I’ve learned are that children grow up quickly, and that no matter how old your children get, they will always be your babies.” Victoria understands that dynamic from a daughter’s perspective too. It was Victoria’s own mother who influenced her the most. “My mom was the biggest supporter in everything I ever set out to accomplish.

Her guidance in motherhood and her resiliency is what shows up in me daily.” No doubt, Victoria continues to make her mother and her children proud.
