How long have you been an Ashro customer? |
I have been a customer for over 15 years. |
What do you do for a living? What do you like most about it? What don’t you like? |
I am a great cook when I take time to do it. I don’t really have a best dish, as I’ve been told that all of my food is delicious. I do make a mean cornbread! LOL |
How do you spend your free time? |
I don’t have a lot of free time, but I thrive on being busy and engaged. |
What small thing makes you happy? |
I love flowers and music. |
What is your best dish? Who do you make it for—and where do you typically serve it? |
I am a great cook when I take the time to do it. I don’t really have a best dish, as I’ve been told that all of my food is delicious. I do make a mean cornbread! LOL |
What has been your greatest struggle…and your greatest (or latest) triumph? |
My greatest struggle as a younger person was self-esteem and worth, but as an adult after having my daughter, maintaining weight has been greatest struggle. My greatest triumph is my faith in God which has allowed me to remain myself despite many, many trials and tribulations. |
Who influenced you the most in your life. Why? And in what way? |
I am most influenced by my mother who had me as a teenager, yet prospered and persevered through illness and various challenges, while remaining an inspiration to all she comes in contact with. |
Do you volunteer or do charity work? Tell us about it! |
Yes I volunteer as a crisis counselor and have previously taught iPhone classes for senior citizens through AARP. |
Are you in a sorority? Or is anyone in your family in a sorority? If so, which one and what does it mean to you? |
Not in a sorority, but I am all for anything that fosters pride, community and sisterhood, which sororities do. |
What do you love about fashion and style? |
I love being able to put combinations together to tell a story for that moment. When you look good, you feel better |
Has anyone in particular influenced your style? |
No particular style influences. I love and respect so many different style icons and professionals. |
What occasions/events do you dress up for? (for example-do you often dress up for church, cultural events, charity events, going out, etc.) And how often do you typically get dressed up? |
I dress up for any events where there will be a crowd or mass group. All celebrations, outings, etc. I love to look good whenever I go out anywhere. |
How has your style evolved over time? |
I have become slightly more refined due to age and the appropriateness therein. LOL |

I love hats and will wear them in and out of church depending on the hat and the occasion. |

I wear headwraps also. No set schedule, whenever the mood hits me. |

I wear all colors, styles and lengths of wigs. |
Are you a woman of faith? How does that faith affect your life? Please tell us more. |
Faith is the cornerstone of who I am. It allows me to stay upbeat and hopeful no matter what I face. Knowing that God is control, I KNOW everything is gong to be alright. |
Do you attend church? What church do you go to and what do you love most about it? |
I attend church weekly online since the pandemic. It allows me to attend no matter where I am, which is such a blessing. |
How are you passing along your faith traditions onto your children/grandchildren? |
My daughter has been raised in a household of faith and we pray together regularly. |

No |
Your best advice? |
Surround yourself with a supportive and loving tribe. Make faith, spirituality a cornerstone in life to pull you through the rough times. You are beautiful, unique and One of a Kind! |
What lessons has motherhood (or being a grandmother) taught you? |
Motherhood has taught me that I am extremely strong and capable and can handle whatever comes my way. It is the hardest job I have ever done. |

Yes I am a credit customer, which helps a lot when you need something to wear but don’t want to allocate liquid funds at a given time. |
